Cookie Policy
Last updated: March 27, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how HireReady uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our website. It explains what these technologies are and why we use them, as well as your rights to control our use of them.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, provide information to the owners of the site, and enable certain features.
We also use similar technologies such as localStorage (browser storage) for storing your preferences locally on your device.
Types of Cookies We Use
We categorize our cookies into three types. You can manage your preferences for non-essential cookies using the cookie consent banner.
Essential Cookies (Always Active)
These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you, such as logging in or filling in forms.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Authentication session token | Session / 7 days | Supabase |
| sb-*-auth-token-code-verifier | PKCE authentication security | Session | Supabase |
| cookie-consent | Stores your cookie preferences | Permanent | HireReady (localStorage) |
Analytics Cookies (Optional)
These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website by collecting and reporting information anonymously. You can opt out of these cookies using the cookie consent banner.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| ph_* | Analytics session and user identification | 1 year | PostHog |
| __ph_opt_in_out_* | Records your opt-in/opt-out preference | 1 year | PostHog |
| _vercel_insights | Performance metrics and web vitals | Session | Vercel |
Error Tracking Cookies (Optional)
These cookies help us identify and fix technical issues on our website. They collect information about errors and bugs you may encounter. You can opt out of these cookies using the cookie consent banner.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| sentryReplaySession | Session replay for error debugging (text masked) | Session | Sentry |
| __sentry_* | Error tracking and performance monitoring | Session | Sentry |
Session Replay Cookies (Optional)
Session replay records your clicks and the pages you move between, so we can watch a session back and see where the product got confusing. Everything you type is masked before it leaves your browser, so form fields, interview answers and passwords are never recorded. This is its own choice in the cookie banner and is off unless you turn it on: accepting analytics does not enable it.
| Cookie Name | Purpose | Duration | Provider |
|---|---|---|---|
| ph_*_window_id | Ties the events in one browser tab to a single replay | Session | PostHog |
Third-Party Services
In addition to our own cookies, we use services from third parties that may set their own cookies when you interact with certain features:
- Stripe: When you make a payment, Stripe may set cookies to process the transaction securely and prevent fraud. These are essential for payment processing.
- PostHog: Our analytics provider sets cookies to track page views and user interactions (only with your analytics consent). Session replay is a separate choice in the banner and is off unless you turn it on; when it is on, all typed input is masked.
- Sentry: Our error tracking service may set cookies to help debug issues (only with your consent).
- Vercel: Our hosting provider may collect anonymous performance metrics (only with your consent).
Managing Your Cookie Preferences
You have several options for managing cookies:
- Cookie consent banner: When you first visit our site, you can choose which non-essential cookies to accept. You can change these preferences at any time by clicking "Cookie Preferences" in the footer.
- Browser settings: Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings. Note that blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the website from working correctly.
- Third-party opt-outs: You can opt out of specific third-party tracking by visiting their opt-out pages:
Withdrawing Consent
You can withdraw your consent for non-essential cookies at any time by clicking the "Cookie Preferences" link in the website footer. When you withdraw consent, we will stop using those cookies going forward, though cookies already set will remain on your device until they expire or you delete them through your browser.
Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. If we make significant changes, we will re-request your consent through the cookie banner. Please check this page periodically for updates.
